Vivian Maier Spying For The Future

Everyone is talking about the work of Vivian Maier, an avid photographer from 1945 until her death in 2009. She took over 100,000 pictures, many of which were never developed. She worked as a nanny but described herself as a sort of a spy. In effect, she was spying for the future. We may not be able to go back to her time period, but like a spy she gathered as much information as she could for those in the future who could appreciate her work. Think about that when you see an old black and white photo. Somebody took the time and expense to show you something they thought was worth capturing before it was gone forever. If you have got some old pictures, start scanning now.
