On Nov. 3, 2016 SVEC held its annual Open House at the TechShop in downtown San Jose. Speakers were Jim Newton, Founder, TechShop “STEAM Education & TechShop” Steve Mohr, Varian “Linear accelerators in the history of Varian”
Organizers were collecting donations to support afterschool STEAM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) for disadvantaged youth. They are partnering with TechShop which has a thriving after school STEAM program. They are a nonprofit 501c3 and donations toward this initiative are fully deductible.
