On Nov. 30, 2017 the Associated Press reported that 29 members of Argentina’s military junta from the 1970’s Dirty War were sentenced to life in prison. Among them were Jorge Eduardo Acosta, Alfredo Astiz, Georges Mario Daniel Arru, and Carlos Octavio Capdevilla. Astiz was also convicted of kidnapping, torturing and murdering two French nuns and a journalist. He refused to apologize for his crimes.
Makes you wonder. Did they think they would get away with it? Did they think it would just go away? It took years but it still happened. I have heard stories of junta members having their graves desecrated. Their deeds are seen online for generations. They will be remembered, just not the way they thought. Perpetua.
