On July 30, 2013 in Palo Alto at Pillsbury, SVForum presented the Quarterly Venture Breakfast “Breaking Down the Big Data Buzz.” Allison Leopold Tilley of Pillsbury moderated panelists Paul Blase of PwC, Michael Borrus of XSeed Capital, Ajit Deshpande of Opus Capital and Jake Flomenberg of Accel Partners. They discussed the trend of big data investment from the consumer to the enterprise market as all the data collected on individuals is monetized. Companies that figure out how to collect, manage and deploy the information will still have to battle the volume of data. Companies that offer privacy for mobile or wearable device users could offer a competitive advantage.
