Nov. 15, 2017 Ancient Inequality

On Nov. 15, 2017 NPR’s Dan Charles reported “From Cattle To Capital: How Agriculture Bred Ancient Inequality” about how using domesticated animals gave an advantage to wealthy people in the Old World.  Washington State University’s Timothy Kohler said “After that period, for some reason, wealth gets much more unequally distributed in the Old World, Europe and Asia, than it does in the New World.” And yet the Pilgrims almost starved to death when they first arrived. Native Americans shared what they had because that is what you do in an egalitarian society.
