On August 19, 2017 Dick Gregory died at the age of 84. He was best known as a comedian and civil rights activist. This led to his surveillance by the authorities. He knew this because he had not paid his telephone bill in months and still had phone service. “You cannot wiretap a disconnected phone.” He advised people demonstrating to dress in suits and ties, because they would be arrested and they could use their mugshots as free publicity photos. I highly recommend his autobiography.
