Sep. 14, 2015 Lunch Unbreak

A client scheduled to meet with a candidate in person. Several employees would interview the candidate from ten o’clock in the morning until two o’clock in the afternoon. The client did not schedule a lunch break or even time for the restroom. The candidate’s plan was to eat or drink as little as possible and use the restroom just before the interview began. In case they became light headed, they put a banana and bottle of water in their briefcase. When I heard about this I recommended they ask the client to schedule a lunch break. The client refused and said the candidate was being unreasonable. The deal did not go through. I would say the candidate dodged a bullet on this one. Any company that cannot take into account the basic needs of a human being is probably difficult to work for.
