On December 1, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, SDForum with the CSPA, Global Sourcing Alliance and Municipality of Wuxi, China presented “A Symposium on Software and Outsourcing”. Top government officials and executives were on hand to talk about China’s IT outsourcing market and investment opportunities.

American companies like GE, Caterpillar, Pfizer, DuPont, Kodak, Cummins, Seagate, Timken, Donaldson, Johnson Controls, and Jabil Electronics have invested some $949.25 million in paid-in capital for over 854 projects in Wuxi. The United States is their largest export market, mainly mechanical and electronic equipment, textiles and clothing, base metal and metal products.

Yang Weize, Chief Executive of Wuxi Municipality gave the opening address. Fang Wei, Vice Mayor of Wuxi Municipality talked about the development of Wuxi’s outsourcing industry. Gao Zhansheng, the General Consul for China spoke of greater ties between China and the United States. The event concluded with a contract signing ceremony and dinner.
